Love is indirectly responsible for allowing us to have the great world wars. Through the peace it can cause, more powerful weapons are invented. Without love, constant warfare would have prevented people from being able to invent superior weapons. This would mean that the human race would still be fighting with stone weapons rather than nuclear ICBM’s or even our more conventional munitions. A third reason that love is important is that it allows the intelligent and rational person to easily manipulate a weaker and less intelligent person that cannot overcome their emotions. While this is true of all emotions, love is more powerful than most others (only hate and fear are equal in strength). As logic is far more important than emotions, love helps to allow the superior minority of the population to rule the weak and pathetic majority. Although the weak occasionally manage to do something incredibly stupid and unpredictable, love helps to keep this to a minimum. A great example of this is politicians. They love money so the intelligent people, who will manage to make some money because of their superior natural abilities, give these politicians a small fraction of their wealth to keep the politicians doing what is best for the superior class of people. This shows why it is important to love and be loved.
